ABOUT MY NOTES

I initially came up with this idea the summer before junior year. I created a Wix website and started compiling/scanning some of my notes, but the junior year grind/testing chaos began before I had a chance to finish. Fast forward a year: after completing my Girls Who Code summer program (it was amazing—highly recommend), I came back to this idea and thought, "Why don't I use what I learned and CODE my notes website?" So that's what I did.

Some of these notes are just slightly cleaned-up versions of my class notes, while others are study guides I made for tests or for the AP.

Partly inspired by MokNotes and how much they helped me during AP Euro!

MY TIPS FOR NOTE-TAKING

DISCLAIMER: I am by no means an expert note-taker. The following bullet points are just what I've realized through my own experience. Note-taking is personal, so take this with a grain of salt.

* Make sure that you're actually processing what your teacher is saying rather than just copying down words. If you feel lost, stop writing and take a few moments to just listen to the lecture to try to connect all of the information together
* Write your notes in your own words instead of exactly what your teacher is saying
* Drawing diagrams is super helpful, especially for science
* Use different colors, especially for those things that may tie what you're learning to the bigger picture/be related to another unit/etc.
* Making review sheets helps me study for the test, but focus less on the aesthetic and more on the actual content
